Shane Skinner

W.D. Skinner & Son Insurance Agency, Inc. was founded by my grandfather Willis D. Skinner in 1935, the same year Grange Insurance was founded. My grandfather was a very active member of Grange National during his life. He ran the agency from his home until he retired in 1976. My father, Thomas L. Skinner took over the agency in 1976 and moved it to its current location on East Main Street in Barnesville, Ohio. My father passed away in 1987 and my mother Patricia Anderson took over the business. I joined the agency part-time in 1991 while attending college at Ohio University Eastern. My full-time employment at the agency began after I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1994. I am currently the third generation to operate the family business.
